St3v3, I tried increasing the contrast, but couldn't get to the point I wanted to see. The other, and possibly better, alternative is to re-visit the location and rephotograph it with, hopefully, light more suitable to my liking. Thanks for checking this out and your suggestion. Both are appreciated...

I honestly have no idea as to why this one was chosen. Here's a link to the page which shows the number of people who liked the photograph and the number of people who fav'd the photograph. There were no comments as to why it was selected.

Thanks for looking and commenting, Minnie. That was part of the scene that caught my attention. Sort of a step and repeat scenario. Though, I'm not sure what the lady in the background was doing, reading? fussing with her wallet? I just don't remember.

I'm with Piet on this one. Coming from a, and still using, film background, grain isn't all that unattractive. It's part of the image. The scrubbed version is a bit too pristine for my liking.
