Re: "Signature" Photo

the business end - I don't sell my work, but this one ended up as a daily deviation at deviantart and I have also found it for sale at a Russian site - so someone liked it... Which brings forth an interesting point (to me anyway). The work that we do that ends up popular, may or may not be our own f...

Re: "Signature" Photo

I too don't have a "signature" photo, at least not in the sense of art photo sales as I don't have that kind of market. However, I do have one image I have had many requests for as a print. In hind sight I should have sold them but they were for family and friends. "Sadie" at th...

Re: Buffalo Bill Dam (1910), Cody, Wyoming

Hi Chuck, that is one cool Dam. Your last version highlights the wall of it, but the image seems flat to me. The natural light of it seems to be a darker dam holding back the light (kind of like a tunnel). An alternative might be to crop more at the bottom and then have the dam wall area darker. Mak...

Re: Fountain

it looks like an interesting place. I could see some fantastic images coming out of this on a rainy/reflective day. As an abstract oval, it looks crooked. Either make it way more crooked or straighten it or different POV. Perhaps crop the railing on top (or include more of it), it is too strong on t...

Re: Photohunt Challenge meetup July 2017

Photographing people I don't know was a growing experience. I started by explaining what my assignment was and then asking if I could take their picture. All people I asked were quite gracious, I did offer to email them the picture. With two people, I did just that Notice in the 1st picture, the gi...

Dave, I love the fabric flow of the second - with a better background and with your traditional (bit gentle) treatment you might have caught someone in conversation with the angels.

Re: Selfie studio portrait

Duck, for me... the red is over-powering. so the current image is about red instead of about you. And what the other guys said. Portraiture is not my area, so take my add-in with a big grain of salt. Do B/W on this. About the eyes, looking away makes you look dreamy -- which doesn't fit. Tough and c...
