Interesting Tom, what do you do, drink it to sleep or hit yourself over the head with the bottle and sleep, now please enlighten me - what exactly is root beer? 8):
Cheers,

Paul, It doesn't really help me sleep, but after a few of them I don't care that I'm not sleeping. :D

Root Beer is a non-alcoholic soft drink that is pretty popular around here. As the label says, this is NOT root beer. It's an ale that is spiced so that it does taste like root beer, with a bit of a kick.

I'm not much of a beer fan, except for German Weizenbier which is a bit hard to come by around here. I ran into this NOT root beer at the local Wal-mart, gave it a try, and found that I like it. :)

Ok, I fell a bit behind. I made it out to "City Lake" for a bit this morning after I got off of work. Things are looking a bit drab and dead around here now, but at least no snow yet like some folks have gotten.

Some interesting shots here Tom. I like #4, although I think I would have cloned out some of the bits of extraneous stuff. I also like the B&W conversion (#2) and the reflection - prefer it over the coloured one - I'm strange that way - sometimes. :D The one I wonder about is in the second set where the tree seems to be growing between the rocks. Did it grow up and actually break the rock into pieces as it grew?

You still have birds around. All we have are some non-migratory crows, magpies and sparrows. Most of the others are long gone to the warmer southern parts of the continent, although there was a Flicker around the other day - probably just passing through as they usually do this time of year.

Thanks WG.
I believe the tree is only growing between the rocks. I do know that growing trees and rocks can be quite powerful though, I've seen the damage that they can do.

We've had some birds that have fled for warmer temps, but many stay here thru the winter.

I really like the reflections (im a sucker for them) and also the one of the leaf in close up - you really are heading into winter now but still some lovely colors around - how long before you get snow -or has it arrived already- if it has you can keep it - I hate it - lived with it for 37 winters in the UK 8):

Cheers Paul

Thanks Paul.
We had a few specks of snow falling in the air the other day, but not enough to count. We don't usually see any snow accumulation until December. It varies a lot here in Missouri. My brother was driving from Missouri to Minnesota last night and experienced about a 30 degree drop in temps and was driving thru snow for the last half of the trip.

I managed to get a bit behind. I intended to post a couple of cell phone photos last week but apparently forgot. Here's a few from this past weekend.
