Jenny, love the single rose - much better by itself - IMHO. It is a much stronger composition.

Zali looks great in black and white. If you have never worked in B&W, it is a great medium to work in as there are so many possibilities for the conversion. I am not sure what you used for the conversion, but I use Nik's Silver Efex Pro 2 a lot, as do a number of others. It is a widely used plugin for Lightroom or Photoshop for black and white conversion and the entire suite is quite cheap, if you don't have it already. I would invite you to take a look at my "52" project and that of PeteD as well. We are both dedicating them to black and white imagery. If you have any questions, I am sure there are a number of folks here, myself included, who would be only to happy to answer them.

The water drop is neat. I always find them a bit tricky to photograph and you have done a great job here. I am not quite sure if the stem in the background is distracting or not, but, I might be tempted to clone it out, but that's just me.

Last weekends Sunday drive out to Point Lowly with Hubby for fathers day.
Lindsay kindly cooked the barbie, whilst I played with the camera! oh the bush fly's were soooooooooo bad!
Young Zali was not impressed with the fly's!

Re: Nikodian1 52 Week 23

spent the Oct long weekend in Melrose. This time we decided to trek down through Alligator Gorge in the Flinders Rangers Mt Remarkable National Park.
No mean feet at my age! Trek down was good, down in the jaws of the gorge was nothing short of a garden of Eden. BUT..... coming up that stairway to get out was sheer hell!
I think next time, and yes there will be a next time, I'd start the loop from the stairwell and go down then trek out the way we went in!
I found the lighting very tricky!

I've never worked in black n white Eric. A lot to learn, I found its not quite that easy!

Jenny, great observation. A lot of people hit the convert button and that's it. As you found out though, it isn't that easy. Getting a strong b+w image is I find difficult getting the tones right...

Lovely shots Jenny, I think my favorite is the last one - lovely reflections can almost picture myself being there - if it wasn't for those bloody steps :D
