I run into trouble working the edges. I've tried different kinds of brushes and strategies. I've tried masking in vs masking out. I still can't get a process that works for me to get the subtle look you have here.

not at all - composite with two shots - background in one and geese in the other - and used to working the birds larger... hit me as a little blah too...

I like it. The launch moment is beautifully dynamic, and the setting is simple and lovely. All is processed nicely. I honestly think I would like it better without the floating goose, with only the launching one. But what do I know? I can’t find even an ant to photograph.

thank you Paula - Odd number right? One is better than two, three is better than 4.. Composition - I like your idea.

It might have been a sexual display, they were both making their honking noise - the might not have like me being where they were headed. The bird lifted itself out of the water, flapped wings a couple of times, and then settled back down. I liked Zeke's photo very much. Do not be hard on yourself, we are all in shock and mourning for what is taking place.
