That is absolutely wonderful! The DOF works well, the colors are great, the composition is perfect to me, and oh that pose!

What kind of bird is this? I’d love to know more about how you managed this epic shot. I hope you’re sharing it everywhere!

Thanks, It is a brown pelican. Taken at Orange Beach, Alabama.
It landed, then settled down to nap.

That you found him in that peculiar position and thought to photograph him that way is just wonderful. I love to photograph pelicans and I am always attracted to pictures of them but I have never seen one like this. Kudos for originality and thanks for sharing a terrific find!
