I must admit that the composition of this image, rather than being an assist to my viewing of the whole, leaves me a bit...unsettled....and distracted by the density of fine, interlacing detail in the left 2/3 of the upper 2/3 of the image.
i find that detail-dense region, that, at first glance, struck me as reminiscent of a distantly viewed Jackson Pollock painting, to been a major factor in initial impact..and not a positive one. for, in my case, it functiones as a continual eye trap" as i attempt to appreciate the image as a whole.
I do appreciate the colors and the hint of possibly an approach to a high-key interpretation of the scene, and I am not bothered by the scattered blown highlights. In the general tonal scheme they are not, to my eye, offensive.in the least.
It is an interesting image, but not one I personally find "compelling".
And remember, this is but one guy's opinion.
