A postcard kind of morning

Postby LindaShorey » Mon Sep 18, 2017 8:39 pm

A bit of rain overnight brought some blue skies and real sunshine! After weeks of smoke, this was heaven. Hopefully, enough rain fell in the areas of wildfires to help control.

Here is one of the photogenic turnouts along the 20-mile Yakima River Canyon Scenic Byway, a treasure that I am so fortunate to have nearby. Thanks for taking a look!

That's a beauty Linda. All that color and texture, well composed in that sweeping U curve form. Wonderful image. So glad you're able to get back out and go about finding your beautiful stuff to show us!

Linda, A great photo, and great memory .. I really like the sweep of the canyon; draws you in. I can almost feel the morning chill. Matt

Just positively magnificent! Both the scene and your picture of it! Sure wish the entire West wouldn't catch fire every year.

Thank you all so much for your interest! As Ernst has experienced, this scenic road has many twists and turns, and high canyon walls - all of which contribute to yummy and interesting light and weather condition much of the year. This is also the road where my eagles live :)

Chuck's mention of "entire west on fire" surely seems the truth many years. But there are so many other natural (and man-made) disasters, such as hurricanes and earthquakes, we don't deal with on a regular basis.

Wow, the leading lines are strong here, from the sloping mountain to the bowl to the water directing towards it, and those clouds!

I'm glad you have a camera and the eye to use it! S-

Great color tone with that beautiful blue sky and fluffy clouds has a pleasing appeal, not to mention the leading line of the stream that seems to pull me in as if I were there. A pleasure to view Linda !!!
