It was an amazing year for the mountains. Let's hope for another! S-

WingShooter, Here are a few from a morning at the Great Falls on the Potomac. Virginia is the left, Maryland on the right. The Potomac is one of four exceptions where the border between states in not the middle of the channel. The border here is the northern bank, i.e., Maryland and DC.

I didn't capture the flow as you did; I was concentrating on dof in most of them, and on the three herons. Thanks for reminding me of a very pleasant morning. Matt

I just looked at my images and they are awful. I don't know what happened between my editing/submitting them and their showing up in pM. My god they are gross. Apologies. I will go back, and try again if I can correct them. Awful. Matt

Websites never really translate one-to-one, and your image is beautiful, but I'm looking forward to seeing it like you want it! S-

Steve, This is still awful. I don't know what to do, so I will just stop trying to figure this out. Night time. Matt

That's a great capture of the falls' power. It would not be such a powerful image if you'd shot with a slow shutter.

The decisions about how best to shoot running water are always up for debate, but for me the water itself seems to suggest solutions most of the time, and this water wanted to show its power! Well done.

You'll get it sorted.

I have had posted anomalies before too. Most often, when I do, it turns out I accidentally exported the image in a color space that particular website is allergic to. sRGB is always the best export space for posting.

You've got some great details of the herons on some of these, so if reworking them, I'd focus on them and what they bring to the picture. Their willingness to fish in that chaos reminds me of my intrepid dam birds.
