Crosses, Cannons and cellphones
This cross is one that has survived hundreds of years in Havana, the last one of its original Stations Of The Cross crosses. The cannon are also hundreds of years old. Evidently Cuba had vast numbers of cannon and decided a way to use them was stick them in the cement to create barriers to keep vehicles out of pedestrian streets in. The historic district. Cellphones are new there and can only be used for making calls, no data services, but they are checking popular.

Great shot, Minnie. Texture, framing, tonality and the wonderful whimsy of peaceful use of cannons. Matt

When back to your tools I would experiment with bringing out more detail on the wall with the cross and I'm not sure the upper portion of the image is adding anything so might consider cropping down to just below the brown thing...a nice street shot worthy of more than a glance minniev......

Thanks Matt. The cannons stuck nose-down in concrete as vehicle barriers was a surprise, but only because it was early in the visit. Lots of anomalies in Cuba.Matt Quinn wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 8:26 pmGreat shot, Minnie. Texture, framing, tonality and the wonderful whimsy of peaceful use of cannons. Matt

I am pretty sure I can get more out of it at home, esp the texture in the wall. It wasn’t shot at a gazillion ISO like many of the images. Thanks for the suggestion!Psjunkie wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 1:46 amWhen back to your tools I would experiment with bringing out more detail on the wall with the cross and I'm not sure the upper portion of the image is adding anything so might consider cropping down to just below the brown thing...a nice street shot worthy of more than a glance minniev......
