Lil Darlin'

Post by davechinn » Sun Jun 23, 2019 11:17 am

Sorry, I couldn't resist posting one of my favorites !!! Taken on a trolly car in Spring, Texas near Houston last month. The natural expression and accidental tilt of the head makes this capture a pleasure for me to view. I don't think I could have directed her to pose ever in this manner. Processing was my own personal choice so I felt B&W was the way to go. Thoughts and comments welcomed.

Your absolutely correct about expression and pose Dave….an image to be cherished for sure. The brightest spot above her head is distracting. I get the soft dreamy look and find it appropriate here but feel the frazzled hair background right should be darker, for me the fogginess draws my eye....all my personal opinion so absorb and or reject as you see fit.....surely nothing to be sorry for, always look forward to any of your posts

Lil Darlin indeed! Looks like she has an inclination for modeling! Great expression and beautiful editing. Yes, I agree black and white is great for this.

I agree with Frank about the lighter spot, but that's a minor niggle with a great shot. I hope you're providing a print for the parents!

Thanks for your feedback Frank. I really never gave much thought to that area because I was more concerned with background separation, but now that it has been brought to my attention I should find a balance.

Digital prints will/have been provided but my son & daughter-in-law will choose to print what ever they want. She has a friend that does all of their portraits among other shots, so my shots are not that important, except to me, of course. I have so many I would love to post but I don't want to flood the system/site. Within time more will be smuggled in. I appreciate your thoughts and feedback. She can be a handful, but there is no telling what occupation will be in store.
