This one zooms to the top of my favorites of your informal portraits. The angle is perfect in my view, the texture in that messy but beautiful braid with all those curls slipping out the sides, the gorgeous catchlight, the excellent backdrop, the wonderful processing which I hope you’ll describe. This is one of your best. If I were forced to find something to complain about, I’d have to stretch. Perhaps, the slight light area beneath her ear might could be darkened a bit? It’s a stretch, like I said. It is an exquisite image.

I was concerned about the outer ear being too bright and never noticed the portion you mention (can't unsee it now) so thank you very much.....this was a struggle as I did the whole image without my Wacom..once you are use to one it is almost impossible to do without it..you are right about informal and I had to use 1600 as an iso to get a fast enough shutter but it worked...I think I am finding it to be one of the sweet spots for my camera iso wise when there is low light..

Stunning image of a beautiful little girl. Great separation between subject and background. Expression? Yes, take what you can get, but this one has the appearance of .... INNOCENCE, a job well done IMO.

really nice presentation and composition. The ear thing you mention I didn't see until you wrote about it, I think that is good spotting. Maybe tone down and/or blur the background lines a little if you go to print this. I think you Should print it.
