Bow

Post by Psjunkie »

Took a lucky grab n go shot from a while back and started playing with it…..wondering if it has any appeal..did some texture and color grading which I am still trying to grasp…did I turn an otherwise ok portrait into a gaudy mess???

I like the pose and her expression. But I think your photo shop left her a bit harsh. She merits a more smoother finish.

an attractive young lady, liking the big red bow and crossed arm pose. Agree with Mike and would also remove the yellowish tint in her face. For skin color, shoot for the same color feeling as the bright areas of her arms. I don't have any portraiture skills, I envy you this project!

The main thing is her personality shows through adorably.

Glad you could see that Bob, my treatment as I worked this one without a plan turned into trying to accent her expression rather than exhibit the more traditional portrait look......

She’s so vivacious, her personality makes me smile too. I like the color grading, and most of the texture, but the texture on the right side of her face (beneath the bow) and eye may be a tad heavy. You can brush some out easily if you take a notion.

When you figure out color grading, maybe you can teach me! It still baffles me. I like how it works but I don’t understand it.
