Rope Art
The lobster ropes of Monhegan have fascinated me for years. I always take some pictures of it, coiled or discarded, in strands or piles. There is always a different "arrangement" left hanging over the edge of the harbormasters stair rail. Here's this years, extricated from a busy background that included Sherm's truck, several trash cans, some bait boxes, and other debris, then fiddled with using textures and color toning.

good subject, good shot, and wonderful processing. Proof that one can have a rope fetish and still be highly respected and loved by her friends!!

Love this Minnie. I have been wanting to do something similar, but don't think I have the right image for satisfaction. Maybe in a few years after I have gone through whats been taken, there will maybe be one available to me. In the mean time .... I will enjoy yours !!!

Thanks Frank.
A lobster rope collection is a possibility, or perhaps just lobster junk in general...

Thank ya! You'll find the right ones. Most of them have distractions, and this one had a ton of them before I gave it a new background.davechinn wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 1:51 pmLove this Minnie. The first time I went to the island, the sheer messiness of it got the best of me. Over time I've learned to see through the messiness and find stuff I can work with. I expect you did that by sheer instinct, and you'll find the right pixels to harvest as you move through your files.
