Helicopter Fishing

Post by minniev » Fri Jun 21, 2019 6:14 pm

The egrets don't dive in beak first when they wanta get something out of the water. They hover, gradually copter down, and eventually sink below the water, usually emerging wish a fish to show for it.

What Frank said !!! Altho, the title fooled me, I was expecting an actual helicopter. Imagine that, a dam bird fishing from a helicopter. Your description is educational and I'm sure it's humorous to watch.

Don’t shoot what it looks like. Shoot what it feels like.

I can't either. This is an older shot I never tried to fool with. The crazy water levels at the dam this year have limited my chances.

thanks Dave. The blue herons dive in like kamikaze pilots, beak first. The egrets lower themselves delicately and reluctantly like they dread getting their hair wet. I love watching these guys.
