You have a great concept. I would suggest trying different times of day to see how the light treats it. The shadow bothers me some because it's in the most interesting part of the flower. Even though I seldom do this myself, I would also think about testing out a little flash and see if that would give you some light in the center and still preserve the interesting shadow/backlighting. I'll follow this one because I'm interested in what others suggest.
