Love the flower and the light. If you don't mind that there's lack of detail, it works. If you do mind, then you may wanta retrieve some. It made me a little sad to see it, because it reminded me a lot of Matt's white flower series this time last year.

I may have to play with this one pushing the softness even further. You've got a nice sharp center, which gives you a starting point. For me, the center has to be sharp, or the lead petal, giving an anchor point. You have that.

about flowers - just thinking.. they are delicate, they feel soft. This has a harshness and parts are OOF rather than soft. I am thinking it needs to be tender, light, airy. Less contrast, perhaps high key, perhaps low key, but less contrast. . I think..

I'm going to try to shoot some this spring and give it a shot to see if I am right about all this softness stuff... Flowers are frigging hard to get into complete focus, since they are so shapely, probably a processing style that is artsy could help. Anyway, I will share the journey with you - I am planning a flower shooting rampage...

I might've cropped it further if it was a larger image. It looks like some kind of magnolia. If it is, my best outcomes have been almost side views, with just a little downward if any. Their petals are so danged long that you can't get inside them the way you can with other flowers.
