VETS ON THE SITE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

I keep forgetting that Linda (a special pal) is a 20-year U.S. Navy veteran. It's Veteran's Day. Thanks! (OK) :thanks:

And to all the other veterans on the site, (some I know, most I don't), Thank You For YOUR Service! :yay:

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|

And to all the other veterans on the site, (some I know, most I don't), Thank You For YOUR Service! I served, 3 years active, regular U.S. Army, but I confess that the draft was breathing down my neck so I volunteered. I was a Vietnam-era cold warrior, never in any real danger, so I was mostly just lucky. :|

Thank you Chuck! I was never in harm's way because of my career, so I don't consider what I did any kind of hardship, just a job :)

But all veterans, in harm's way or not, however they served, are to be appreciated by all of us. The jobs are all jobs that need to be done to keep everyone else safe.

Blessings on all those who have served.

you can easily be in harms way without knowing - thank you for those twenty years, our country is stronger for it!

LIke the other Vets here, I could only WISH to have traveled the world with a digital camera and the software to post-process the wonderful images. Memory is nice but doesn't hold quite the resolution of an image captured with a good lens and processed in RAW.

I did four years in the US Navy, USS John F. Kennedy (CV67), Atlantic Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea during the Lebanon Crisis (pre first Gulf War).
I say this not because I want recognition but because I understand there are others who have served longer, have given and sacrificed more and deserve greater recognition than my meager efforts. I am always embarrassed when someone says, "thanks for your service," to me as I don't see my time in service as having amounted to anything more than a long cruise to distant lands at Uncle Sam's expense.

But, to those that have given more, I do thank them so, "thank you, veterans, who have given of your time and efforts to protecting our freedoms."
