I'm an Australian female photographer. I mostly like to create fine art portraits. I am a member of NAVA (National Assoc. of Visual Artists). I've won a couple of awards and have been a finalist in a few competitions. Not sure where I am going with photography, but I am enjoying the journey :)

Congratulations Duck, et al! This is very exciting!

I am still pretty new to digital photography, having purchased my first digital camera about 5 years ago. I learned on a 35mm but became lazy, at some point, and began using point and shoot equipment. I have a decent camera that takes some amazing pictures, but, alas, I keep it on idiot mode because it has been yielding some great results, and I don't know enough about it to do the things that I used to be able to do with a 35 mm. I am a purist, and don't alter my images because there is a part of me that still thinks like a serious photographer, even though my technique is rusty and the transition from film to digital has, at times, been incredibly frustrating. It would be wonderful to develop a comfort level with my camera and be able to do what I used to be able to.

Looking forward to learning some cool stuff from you!

Hi all,
Having been viewing and enjoying the read and finally have a chance to introduce myself. Along with several other photographers from the Whyalla Photography group Onslow alerted me of the forum I'm looking forward to the continual path of learning what makes a winning image. Mostly interested in having my images up on my wall and maybe getting a few more up on Paul's wall. Find the most joy in getting out and about trying to finding the beauty around the local area that many are to busy to see.
Eric

Hey folks, please welcome Mike Overton to the community. We met on a Facebook group and I thought he would be a good fit here as well. Please help him find a comfortable place and encourage him as photography is a new endeavor for him.
