Saturday Night in Memphis, 1911

The only photographs in this image are the two I took with my iphone of an old postcard from my collection, front and back. The rest are oddities I've gathered up or scanned from something. So it isn't very much photography, but it is still part of what I'm learning to do.
I'm not asking anyone to spend a lot of time critiquing this kind of thing, but any comments or suggestions are always appreciated as I fly about with this layering work.

I like your variety of objects. My critique is that the postcard of the building demands (and gets) attention, and as such, perhaps should have the center stage instead of the man and woman -- or fade it away more. As is, the image is top-heavy. Love the stuff you are doing Min!!

All a matter of taste I guess...I will say your blending is very well done and I am liking what you have shown us so far...

Good point Piet. I started with the hotel, and failed to manage the weight as I went.

Thanks, Frank. The point of the whole batch of stuff I’m doing is to figure out that darned blending and bringing in multiple elements. It’s turning out to be harder than it looks. I’m hoping I’ll improve in time.

I’m even learning about Blend If, thanks to you and Piet!

oh yeah... blend if. I could have used that yesterday and forgot! I think a big thing is to do, do, do, do, and do some more. Which is what you are DOing. I need to get off my duff, I am jealous.

Your work is timeless. Can you speak to where you found the other objects and how you arranged the composition? S-
