decks have straight lines

Post by PietFrancke »

been working hard on a deck around the side of the house.. more outside space where hopefully the flies won't bug us and will be able to more easily get scaffolding up for painting the side of the house. Anyway, some lines are straight, and some not so much.. But today, this evening, I felt that I needed to relax and practice. So I took a shot of a chess board that Has straight lines - Like my deck!

Showcase only because it is simple and somewhat pathetic - but feel free to criticize as always.

Fantastic. I even like the "not straight" lines. It all works well to set the tone of the image.

Thanks - it's not as bad as I made it out to be, using a nice four foot level with two bubbles.

for some reason I feel the level makers could use your deck to line up their bubbles for their levels

I love it. The crooked lean to it contributes to its impact. The chess game is proceeding to a hasty conclusion though.

Well done.

thanks Min, here is another cut heading into a less warm version. I attempted to increase the depth, but don't know that this one is any better.. probably a case of leaving well-enough alone..

Absolutely stunning Piet !!! I love both images, I can't put a finger on a favorite. I'm amazed ... your imagination is beyond control. Share some of it if you will, I seemed to have lost the edge, but seeing your work is an inspiration for recovery.
