Make A Holiday Card!

Post by minniev » Wed Dec 12, 2018 3:17 pm

Make a card of your liking - Christmas, Hanukah, generic Winter Holiday and share it in this thread. Make it simple or complicated, funny or serious, creepy or nostalgic. Add more if you make more. It's a great way to practice your creative skills.

You've seen my dam bird image, but here he is as printed. I haven't conquered the task of turning the steps into a stack of presents yet, but it's still a work in progress. The second is a morning quick take, also still a WIP. The third has no photography in it, but is an exercise in blending and stacking and masking a mish-mash of third party elements and getting their colors to work together, also a WIP that could become more personal when I attempt to swap the placeholder deer for an elk of my own.

All three are very cool !!! The second one has my attention the most thou. The smiling boy and the melting snowman says "Not Now Charlie Brown".

If I ever get around to making a card I'll post.

I did poorly with the snow brushes on that one but I just had to play with them as I just found them. Luke’s a funny little guy.

You glued them all together in a poem! Love it!

Now please do make a beautiful Piet-type card for us!

Adding one that I made with a photo I shot a couple of days ago after we put up the our first Christmas tree in the old house we've spent all our time and money on the past few years. It will be my first Christmas in that house in 50 years, but all my childhood Christmases were celebrated there.

After we got a couple of strings of lights working and some ornaments hung, I went out on the porch and shot this with the tree just barely peeping between the curtains, then at home I added various enhancements to make it more magical. I wanted to get some of the house with the tree in the window but it was raining too hard, maybe I can do that this week.
