Since childhood the thistle has always been what Kipling’s “wait-a-bit-thorn bush” brings to mind... and vice-versa!

Never made the connection to Kipling but I love your thistle. They're one of my favorite flower subjects though few people really think of them as flowers. In the south, they are fabulous bug hotels: there's always many kinds of little critter living inside. Beautiful color and detail.

Hi,Paula,
Glad to hear there’s another appreciator of the thistle blossom! I do recall how often the thistles in Texas were infested by a wondrous diversity of small life, but our thistles here in the Dakota Territories must practice better personal hygiene!
Hope you are staying safe and well!
Best,
Dave

Thank you, Frank,
I’m glad it provided joy, for I, too, enjoy their gorgeous blossoms!
Best regards,
Dave
